Where can you find us?

We are in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It's easy to come to us, but it's hard to leave.

Oberalppass

Situated at 2046 m above sea level, the Oberalp Pass in the Gotthard massif divides the Glarus Alps and the Lepontine Alps. The pass connects the two cantons of Uri and Grisons. During the summer months the pass is open for traffic. All year round the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn runs between Disentis and Andermatt. In winter, car transport is possible from Sedrun. This pass forms the connection to Central Switzerland.

Lukmanierpass

At 1915 m above sea level, the Lukmanier Pass is the lowest north-south connection between the canton of Ticino and the canton of Grisons. The pass was considered the most important north-south connection in Switzerland in the High and Late Middle Ages. The Lukmanier Pass is open all year round via a well-maintained cantonal road, although short closures due to weather conditions are to be expected during the winter.

Cantonal road 19

Leave the highway A13 at exit 18 and follow the cantonal road H19. After you have crossed the whole Surselva, you will reach Disentis after about 50 km. This cantonal road is well passable and open all year round. Even during the very heavy snowfalls that are common during the winter season, the road is always in good condition and is permanently cleared by the snowplow service.

By car

By train

If you don't want to travel by car, but want a quiet trip and admire the countless beautiful landscapes, then come to us by train.  Thanks to the excellent rail connections of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) and the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (MGB), Disentis is easy to reach.

Disentis lies on the famous train route

of the Glacier Experess

from Zermatt

to St. Moritz.
